At its sixth Annual Community Traffic Safety Awards lunch held recently at Testo’s in Bridgeport, AAA recognized the department for community traffic safety programs that include active occupant safety, distracted driving and DUI enforcement programs and a bicycle safety awareness program, among other initiatives.

In addition, Livingston, a member of the patrol division, received a Hero Award for his traffic safety efforts. In 2014, he made 25 percent of the total motor vehicle stops for the entire department. His motor vehicle activity far exceeds the department average. His visibility, enforcement and educational efforts through his motor vehicle contacts also has aided in the reduction of the total number of traffic crashes in Redding this year.
